Your First Day
Your first day on Bucketry is a short guided voyage. Follow it and you end the day with a home, a claim, a job, some money and your first rank.

1. Arrive in Pailhaven
Section titled “1. Arrive in Pailhaven”You arrive in Bucket Square, the heart of Pailhaven, with a Castaway’s Sea Chest in your inventory. A few seconds later the Set Sail shore picker opens: choose the kind of land you want to live on (meadows, forest, coast, jungle, frost and more) and you are carried straight to a good building spot in the Claiming World. Close it if you would rather look around town first. Whenever you are ready, the Captain at the helm or /rtp opens the same picker, and /spawn always brings you back. When you first land, a one-click question asks how you found Bucketry. Answer it or press Skip.
2. Make camp on your own shore
Section titled “2. Make camp on your own shore”- The Sea Chest holds the tools you saved from the wreck (a Salvager’s Cutlass, Wreck Pick, Driftwood Hatchet and Bilge Spade), 10 cooked cod and 16 torches. It only opens in the Claiming World, so it will not unpack in Pailhaven. Place it where you land and it sets up a small camp: the chest with your kit inside, a lit campfire, a lantern on a post, a bed and a sign. It also sets a home called
campand gives you a Camp Compass that always points back to it. If there is no room for the full camp, you get the chest by itself. - A message in a bottle washes up near you at your first landfall. Pick it up and right-click it to read the note. If you miss it, it goes into your inventory after 5 minutes.
- The note starts a hunt for a small wreck 120 to 200 blocks away. An arrow and the distance on your action bar show the way. Only you can open its barrel, which holds $1,500, a refitted Wreck Pick and Driftwood Hatchet, 8 cooked cod and the Castaway’s Skiff. The wreck washes away 30 minutes after you open the barrel, or after 3 hours if you never get there. Anything still in the barrel goes into your inventory, or drops at your feet if your inventory is full.
- Salvage tools wear in. Your salvage tools are bound to you and stay with you when you die. Use them and each one wears in: the cutlass after 20 hostile mobs, the pick after 250 blocks mined, the hatchet after 120 blocks chopped and the spade after 150 blocks dug. Then right-click any anvil with it (Pailhaven’s Anvil Works has one) to refit it in iron. It keeps its enchantments. Salvage tools cannot be sold on the auction house.
- Ration Crates wash in for you on days 2 to 7. Right-click one for 6 cooked cod, 8 torches and 4 bone meal.
- Your first rank: once you have $5,000, you get a reminder with a Rank up to Wader button (at most 3 times, 10 minutes apart). Your first rank-up gets fireworks.
3. Meet Skerry
Section titled “3. Meet Skerry”For your first week a gull named Skerry drops by now and then. Skerry cheers you on when you hit a milestone (your first landfall, claim, diamond or fish) and suggests things you have not tried yet, like the auction house, fishing or the Breaker’s Yard. Some tips come with a Show me button.
Skerry retires after 7 play days, or once you have tried 5 suggested features, and leaves you
