Storage Units and Sell Chests

Two special chests from the shop make big bases manageable: the Storage Unit for keeping things, and the Sell Chest for turning farm output into money while you do something else. Both are in /shop under Special Utilities.

Storage Unit$150,0002 every 24 hoursSpecial Utilities (Guppy)
Sell Chest$500,0001 every 72 hoursMariner

Place the chest, then right-click to open it. Hoppers can feed both kinds. You can place up to 8 of these chests per chunk.

A Storage Unit holds 135 slots across its pages, more than two double chests in one block.

  • Search: click the search button and type an item name to find it fast.
  • Sort: sort by name, amount, material or durability.
  • Compress: turn loose items into blocks (9 diamonds into a Diamond Block, 9 iron ingots into an Iron Block, 4 amethyst shards into an Amethyst Block, and so on).
  • Sell: sell the contents manually at shop prices.

Anything sellable you put into a Sell Chest gets sold for you at shop prices. Turn on automatic selling in the chest’s menu, then collect your earnings from the menu. Worthless items and items with custom names or lore are left alone.

Every tier sells more often and keeps more of the money. Upgrade from inside the chest.

Going from Base to tier X costs $5.5 million in upgrades. Some tiers also need a Survival rank: tier I needs Koi, tier II Salmon, tier III Mariner. The chest’s upgrade button shows the requirement for the next tier.

Automatic selling stays on until you switch it off. If you log out it pauses, and it turns itself back on when you rejoin. Every Sell Chest tier also has a smelter (smelt the contents for $1,000) and a compressor.

The Storage Guild questline in /quests > Harbor Academy walks you through both chests:

  1. A Place for Everything: buy, place and open a Storage Unit.
  2. Stock the Warehouse: keep 512 cobblestone in your own Storage Unit.
  3. Provision the Harbor: keep 256 wheat in it.
  4. First Shipment: buy and place a Sell Chest and switch on automatic selling.
  5. Working Warehouse: sell 1,024 items through your Sell Chests.
  6. Efficient Enterprise: own a tier III or better Sell Chest. Reward: the optional Warehouse Keeper chat tag (/tags).

Items are counted, not taken, so you keep everything you store for these quests.
