Sailmaker's Loom
A vanilla loom stops at 6 pattern layers. The Sailmaker’s Loom goes up to 16, so you can finally make those detailed banner designs you have seen online.
The idea came from a player suggestion through /suggest.
Where to find it
Section titled “Where to find it”Visit Orla Finch, the Sailmaker, in her sail loft on Crafts Row in Pailhaven. Talk to her and choose “Weave me a banner.”
How weaving works
Section titled “How weaving works”- Have the banner you want to work on in your inventory, plus the dyes you need.
- Talk to Orla and open the loom.
- Pick the banner, then add layers one at a time: choose a pattern and a dye.
- The banner is changed in place in your inventory. The loom never holds your items.
| Layers | Cost |
|---|---|
| 1 to 6 | One plain dye per layer, like a vanilla loom |
| 7 to 16 | One plain dye plus $500 per layer |
- Special patterns (like the Creeper, Skull, Flower or Globe charges) still need their banner pattern item in your inventory. The pattern item is not used up.
- Only plain dye is used. Renamed or special dyes are left alone.
Copy and wash
Section titled “Copy and wash”- Copy: vanilla crafting can’t copy a banner with more than 6 layers. The loom can. Bring a blank banner of the same base color and copy your design onto it.
- Wash: strip the patterns off a banner and start again.
