Quests
Quests are the biggest burst of income on Bucketry. A quest that pays $400,000 once a week, run alongside your Charters, adds up fast. Open the quest book with /quests (or /q).

The quest book
Section titled “The quest book”The book is split into sections:
| Section | What is inside |
|---|---|
| Getting Started | First Day at Sea, Harbor Academy (short lessons on Bucketry’s custom systems), Tap & Tide Academy |
| Main Story | Trials of the Shallows, Path of the Deep, Tidecaller’s Trials, Captain’s Orders. See Story questlines |
| Guild Quarter | Each guild’s commissions and contracts |
| Professions & Skills | The repeatable ladders: mining, farming, forestry, fishing, cooking, brewing, smithing and more |
| Boss Challenges & Raids | Quests tied to bosses, raids, Starfall and Fathom |
| Combat & Challenges | Hunting, archery, grinders, Trial Chambers and the Impossible Quests |
| Experience & Misc | Experience and general quests |
Every quest card shows its objectives, your progress, the reward (cash, coins, XP, items) and whether it repeats.
The quest ladder
Section titled “The quest ladder”Most profession quests come in four-step chains: Coal Vein I, II, III and IV, for example. Each tier needs the one before it, asks for more, and pays more.
| Tier | Repeats every | Pays up to |
|---|---|---|
| I | 24 hours | about $20,000 |
| II | 24 hours | $50,000 |
| III | 48 hours | $150,000 |
| IV | 7 days | $400,000 |
A few chains break the pattern on purpose (the Diamond Vein chain, for instance, runs every 48 hours at every tier), so check the cooldown line at the bottom of each card. One example, the Deep Delving coal chain:
| Quest | Cooldown | Bounty | Coins |
|---|---|---|---|
| Coal Vein I | 24 hours | $7,000 | 15 |
| Coal Vein II | 24 hours | $17,000 | 35 |
| Coal Vein III | 48 hours | $35,000 | 75 |
| Coal Vein IV | 7 days | $70,000 | 100 |
Impossible Quests
Section titled “Impossible Quests”Once you reach Reefkeeper, the Impossible Quests open under Combat & Challenges. There is one capstone per discipline, and each one asks for a bigger version of the tier IV quests it is built from. You must have finished those tier IVs first.
Every Impossible Quest pays $1,000,000, 500 coins and 10,000 XP and repeats every 30 days.
| Quest | Discipline |
|---|---|
| The Motherlode | Mining |
| The Great Harvest | Farming |
| Clearcut | Forestry |
| Landshaper | Excavation |
| Emptying the Sea | Fishing |
| Warpath | Hunting |
| Stockmaster | Animal husbandry |
| The Grand Still | Brewing |
| Runebinder | Enchanting |
| The Netherite Vault | Smithing |
| Monument | Building |
How many quests you can run
Section titled “How many quests you can run”You can only have a limited number of quests started at once, and the limit grows with your rank: 3 as a brand new Drifter, 25 by Mariner, 80 by Wavebreaker, and no limit at all from Tidemaster. A few guide and guild quests start on their own and do not use up a slot.
Tracking and what to do next
Section titled “Tracking and what to do next”- Up to three boss bars at the top of your screen show the quests closest to done, with the one you are tracking first.
- When you finish a quest, chat shows a completion card. Hover the reward line to see what you did, click [Details] to open the quest’s category, or [Next] to be offered a good next quest.
/quests nextoffers that next quest any time.
Turn-in quests
Section titled “Turn-in quests”Some quests, including many guild contracts and the grinder quests, take the items from your inventory when you complete them. Read the card before you finish one with your best loot in your bag.
