Charters
Charters are Bucketry’s jobs. Sign a trade’s charter and you get paid for the work that trade does: a Miner earns on every ore, a Fisher on every catch, a Hunter on every kill. You level each charter up to 500, and the higher your level, the more each action pays.

Open everything with /charters (or the old /jobs).
Getting started
Section titled “Getting started”- Run
/chartersand pick a trade. Use/charters info <trade>to see exactly what it pays for. - Sign it with
/charters join <trade>. You can hold three charters at once. - Just play. A quiet tally on your action bar shows what you are earning, and after a few minutes of rest you get a short shift summary. Turn it down with
/charters ledger quietor off with/charters ledger off.
Money is paid out in one deposit every few seconds rather than per block, so your balance ticks up in steps.

What does not pay
Section titled “What does not pay”- Spawner mobs and mobs you barely touched. A kill only pays if you dealt at least 90% of the damage the mob took.
- Blocks you or others placed. Re-placing and re-breaking the same spot pays nothing for ten minutes.
- Creative mode, and anywhere in the Frontier (the Pailhaven world) or the Motherlode event mine. Do your paid work in the claiming and resource worlds.
- More than 20 owned furnaces, smokers, blast furnaces or brewing stands per player.
Boost days
Section titled “Boost days”Each weekday doubles Charter XP for a set of trades (Chicago time). Weekends boost everyone.
| Day | Trades with 2x XP |
|---|---|
| Monday | Lumberjack, Miner, Excavator |
| Tuesday | Farmer, Fisher, Chef, Brewer |
| Wednesday | Blacksmith, Enchanter |
| Thursday | Explorer, Artisan, Hunter |
| Friday | Villager Trader, Beastmaster |
| Saturday and Sunday | Every trade |
Boost days add XP only. Your money rate never drops on a boost day. When a Harbor Contract fills, every Charter gets a money bounty for 48 hours on top.
Work Orders
Section titled “Work Orders”Every day you get up to three Work Orders for each charter you hold, matched to your level: short tasks like “Mine 500 Stone” that pay a flat sum (that one is $20,000). Check them with /charters orders. You can skip two orders a day if you dislike what came up, and buy extra swaps with Guild Merit. Orders reset at 2 AM.
Standings
Section titled “Standings”Your level in each trade earns a standing, shown in /charters and on your guild’s board.
| Level | Standing |
|---|---|
| 1 | Greenhand |
| 25 | Deckhand |
| 100 | Able Hand |
| 200 | Adept |
| 350 | Veteran |
| 500 | Master |
Every 50 levels the harbor hears about it, and milestones from 25 to 500 pay out in Job Mastery. Compare yourself with /charters top <trade> and /charters stats.
Guild Merit
Section titled “Guild Merit”Working a charter also earns Guild Merit, a points balance you spend at the Guildmasters with /merit (or the Guild Merit button on any guild board). It cannot be bought or turned into money.
| Item | Merit | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Extra Work Order swap | 10,000 | |
| Tide Crate key | 25,000 | |
| Guild Ration | 40,000 | +25% XP in that trade for one hour, stacks by the hour |
| Reef Crate key | 60,000 | |
| Rare book | 75,000 | A Rare enchant from that guild’s shelf |
| Guild Livery tag | 150,000 | Needs level 100 in the trade |
| Epic book | 200,000 | Needs level 200 in the trade |
| Patron of the Guilds tag | 750,000 | |
| Harbour Benefactor tag | 1,500,000 | Announced to the whole harbor |
Each guild keeps its own shelf of books that suit its work, so a Miner’s Rare book is a mining enchant and a Hunter’s is a combat one.
