The Salt Cellar

Behind the Tap & Tide bar there is a back door. Through it and down the steps is the Salt Cellar, a den cut into the rock where sailors gamble away their pay.

The games only open inside the den. /cellar shows your options there, and /cellar stats shows your all-time winnings or losses.

  • Stakes are money only, never Coins or store items.
  • You need 3 hours of playtime before you can play.
  • Crown & Anchor has a cap of $5,000,000 staked per day (Chicago time).

The old sailors’ dice game, run by Mags Holloway at the shared table. Sit on a stool or stand at the rail, then click a symbol square on the cloth to put a chip down.

  1. Pick a symbol: Crown, Anchor, Heart, Diamond, Spade or Club.
  2. Pick a stake: $1,000, $10,000, $50,000, $100,000 or $250,000.
  3. Three dice are thrown. You are paid by how many show your symbol:

Betting is open for 20 seconds each round, and a single round takes at most $1,000,000 in bets. You can also ask Mags to “Deal me in”.

A bluffing game at the corner table against Bryony and Colm, two regulars who are always dealt in.

  • Ante: $10,000. Everyone gets 5 hidden dice.
  • Take turns raising the bid on how many of a face are on the whole table, or call the last bid a lie.
  • 30 seconds per turn. The pot goes to the winner, less a 5% house cut.
  • Up to 60 hands per player per day.

Pim Ashdown sells tickets at the booth.

Two runners-up each win a Tide Crate key. If fewer than 3 players bought tickets, there is no draw: everyone is refunded and the pot carries over. You get a keepsake ticket stub; your entries are recorded either way, so losing the stub is fine.

A quieter dealer in curiosities works down here too. He buys stolen goods, but only from people known on the docks. See Harbour Watch.
