Watching boss fights
Curious what Rimeback looks like before you take it on? Want to cheer on a friend? You can watch a live boss fight from a fighter’s point of view, from anywhere on the server.
How to watch
Section titled “How to watch”- Click [Watch] in chat. When a big boss fight starts, an alert goes out about 15 seconds in (at most once every 15 minutes per boss).
- Or type
/watchwhile a fight is on.
Your camera locks onto one of the fighters. You see what they see, you take no part in the fight, and nothing can hurt you. When the fight ends you are sent back where you were a few seconds later.
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/watch | Watch the live boss fight. |
/watch <player> | Watch through a specific fighter’s eyes. |
/watch next | Switch to the next fighter. |
/watch leave | Stop watching and go back. |
/watch notify | Turn the [Watch] alerts on or off. |
/watch private | Fighters: stop others from watching through your view. |
/bosswatch works the same as /watch.

Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- You cannot start watching if you were in combat in the last 10 seconds, and there is a 20 second cooldown between watches.
- While watching you can still chat and use
/msgand replies, but other commands are blocked. - If the fighter you are watching leaves, you move to the next fighter. If nobody is left fighting, you are sent back.
