Mob Pockets

A Mob Pocket is an egg that holds a mob. Right-click a mob to capture it, carry it anywhere, then right-click again to release it. It is the easy way to move villagers into a trading hall, bring animals home, or fill a farm.

Captured mobs keep what makes them theirs: tamed pets keep their owner, villagers keep their profession, level and trades, and animals keep their variant. Names are cleared on release.

  • Capture: right-click a mob with an empty pocket. You can also throw the pocket at a mob up to 30 blocks away; if you miss, it comes back to you.
  • Release: right-click a block or the air while holding a full pocket.
  • Smart Net: right-click mobs to add them (up to 10, identical mobs group together). Right-click to release one, shift + right-click to release all, or use /mp gui while holding it to pick which mob to let out.
  • Players, bosses and their minions (Ender Dragon, Wither, Warden, Elder Guardian and similar)
  • Server NPCs and named event mobs, such as guards, quest givers and the dark auctioneer

Inside someone else’s land, capturing a mob counts as hurting it. You can only do it if the land’s visitor settings let you hurt that kind of mob (animals or monsters). Crew members can always capture in their own land.
